Vellum Flowers

To make the flower on this card, I punched 3 vellum daisies, punched a small hole in the middle of all three and inserted a yellow brad. I'm sure it would be cute to try the same concept with other vellum colors and other flower shapes.

I was lucky to find this perfect flower-print paper. Vellum changed my dark pink cardstock to the perfect shade of light pink. It was like this card was just "meant to be." Oh- and glue runner is the best thing for attaching a strip of ribbon. I didn't know this and used tacky glue. (I doesn't look as good as it could)

My Card-Making Philosophy

I make cards for a fun creative release, to save money, and to hopefully make someone else happy. My philosophy is:

1- A homemade card should save $. I don't make a card if it will cost me more than 50 cents. If it costs more than that, it would be better to just print something off the computer.

2- Always make at least 10 cards at a time. (assembly-line style) If I can't make 10 of a card in less than 3 hours, I won't bother. A card that takes 2 hours to make might be amazing, but it will still end up in someone's garbage can.

3- A card should be simple and not crowded with hundreds of accessories/flowers/loud patterns.

4- A card will be thrown away. That's OK. :) The joy is in the making and giving.
